Version 3.4 also more-closely integrates VERITAS NetBackup BusinesServer with VERITAS NetBackup DataCenter, the Company's data protection solution for global enterprise networks and datacenters. New Agent Adds NDMP Support
This type of backup and robotics tape-library support further enhances the power of the VERITAS NetBackup solution for workgroup networks, and has attracted the attention of leading NAS suppliers such as Network Appliance. "Network Appliance is excited about the announcement of version 3.4 of VERITAS NetBackup BusinesServer. This product offering provides a powerful, integrated, scaleable and cost-effective NDMP backup solution for Network Appliance in the workgroup environment, for UNIX, Windows NT and Windows 2000. We are confident that VERITAS Software and Network Appliance customers will be delighted as well," said Paul Hansen, senior director of product marketing at Network Appliance. The new version of VERITAS NetBackup BusinesServer also features increased tape-library slot support. The new version integrates support for Microsoft Windows 2000 with ongoing support for Windows NT and legacy Windows environments, and introduces client compression for Windows 2000 and Windows NT environments. "The increased client support, Windows 2000 support, and other new features of version 3.4 expand on the original promise of VERITAS NetBackup BusinesServer," said John Maxwell, senior director, Data Protection Product Group, VERITAS Software.
